Här var det hoppsan hejsan,
här ska du se på mejsan.
Kan å kan du gissa,
kan du gissa vem jag är?
Vill å vill du veta
vad en sån som jag kan heta?
Strunta i att fråga
för jag säger som det är.

Här kommer Pippi Långstrump,
tjolahopp tjolahej tjolahoppsan-sa
Här kommer Pippi Långstrump,
ja, här kommer faktisk jag.

Har du sett min apa,
min fina söta lilla apa.
Har du sett Herr Nilson,
ja han  heter faktisk så.
Har du sett min villa,
min Villa Villekullavilla
Vill å vill du veta,
varför villan heter så ?

Jo, för där bor ju Pippi Långstrump
tjolahopp tjolahej tjolahoppsan-sa
där bor ju Pippi Långstrump,
ja, där bor faktisk jag.

Det är inte illa,
jag har apa häst och villa,
En kappsäck full med pengar
är det också bra att ha.
Kom nu, alla vänner,
varenda kotte som jag känner,
Nu ska vi leva loppan,
Tjolahej tjolahoppsan-sa

Här kommer Pippi Långstrump,
tjolahopp tjolahej tjolahoppsan-sa
Här kommer Pippi Långstrump,
ja, här kommer faktisk jag.

The main charachter of Pippi Longstocking (Pippi Långstrump) was Inger Nilsson the today 51 years old actress. It was an unexpected success of the serie both in Sweden and in other countries. However, we could say that the serie was the most popular (besides Sweden) in Germany. She has had several tv-gigs and guested as a star of German tv-shows ever since. During the 70s and the 80s she was an active actress playing in different plays in the theatres of Stockholm, Falun, Gothenburg and Växjö. In 2005 she had a remarkable roll in Stephen Kings “Lida” in Stockholm. In between the rolls she worked as a secretary. However, the German TV made a new tv-serie based on the Swedish author Marie Jungstedt´s books in 2006. Inger got to play the leading part in the serie. She has recently claimed that it has been more of a burden getting new rolls as an actress because everyone associates her with Pippi Longstocking.

inger Nilsson is adorable as an adult, too. Here’s a cute clip from a German show.

Thanks so much for bringing back fun memories from my childhood. Pippi Långstrump was the first Swedish book I read by myself as I learned Swedish. It was a great way to learn the language.

  2. Marta:

Hi! I think my interest in Sweden began with Pippi Calzaslargas (it was the name of the tv series in Spain). Now, I’d like to visit Sweden with my family and go to that park they’ve created based in Pippi’s books or tv series.
    Happy summer! 🙂

  3. Tibor:

    Dear Judy and Marta!

I think it is always cool when you realize that you share cultural stuff with people from other countries. It connects people. Pippi is an international common heritage. I am happy you liked it.

  4. Isabel:

very nice! thank you for posting as well as the lyrics, I am practicing right now 🙂
I’m from Bolivia and some friends from Norway introduced me to Astrid’s world recently and I am loving it! 🙂

  5. Judy:

Where is this “Pippi Park” that Marta mentioned? I’ve been to the “Pelle Svanslös” hus in Uppsala–another adorable children’s series from Sweden that helped me improve my Swedish. I’d love to visit the Pippi park someday, too!

  6. EOP:

The fact is: there`s NO WAY you can find/buy ORIGINAL (swedish) version with any subtitles! I got this info after long search on the web from the AL Foundation in Sweden. They don`t know if there ever will be a release of this. A big shame.

All other option is just a bs…the REAL Pippi speaks swedish and that`s it.

C`mon Sweden why wait so long?
