Flamengo Wins Brazilian Championship Posted by on Dec 7, 2009 in Sports

On Sunday, Rio de Janeiro’s ever popular Flamengo took the Brazilian Championship (known as the Brasileirão, or the Campeonato Brasileiro), making it a six-time champion (though one of those wins is disputed, even by flamenguistas themselves. Flamengo beat Grêmio 2 to 1 at Maracanã Stadium.
