The report describes Bibliotheca Alexandrina as one of the most famous libraries in the region and in the world. Later in the report, it is described as an architectural masterpiece and a center for culture and knowledge.

 

 2- What does it present to its users?

It presents to its users information in all its different forms through collections of books, journals, documents, maps and multi-media.

 

 3- Who established the old Bibliotheca Alexandrina and when?

The old Bibliotheca Alexandrina was established by the successors of Alexander the Great. It was founded by Ptolemy the First in 330 BC.

 

 4- How many floors does the library include?

It comprises 10 floors.

 

 5- When was the new library built?

The new library was built in October 2002.

 

 6- How many books are currently in the library?

There are currently around 2 million books in Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
