Laylat Al-Qadr Posted by aziza on May 26, 2019 in Culture
It is the holy month of Ramadan, and today is the 21st of Ramadan, so we started the last ten days of the holy month. The last ten days are particularly important for Muslims because they include ليلة القدر ‘the Night of Decree’ or ‘the Night of Destiny’. This is a very special night for Muslims. It is the night in which Qur’an was first revealed to Prophet Mohammed. Muslims expect the night in the last ten nights of Ramadan. Today is the 21st of Ramadan, so today could possibly be the ‘Night of Destiny’ or ‘the Night of Decree’. Muslims observe the night because they believe that it is a night when sins are forgiven, good deeds are rewarded and supplications are accepted. The night is so important that there is a special chapter in the Qur’an about it, and named after it.

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.
Some Muslims spend the last ten days of Ramadan in mosques, and there are special prayers after midnight every night in the last ten nights of Ramadan.
