Welcome to the second part of this post: an advanced listening piece on the topic of Minimalism موضوع التبسيط. Last week, we started studying a short audio clip, in Standard Arabic, and listed some of the keywords related to the topic. There was one matching exercise to work on. In this post, there is another audio clip and another exercise, together with the correct answers for the previous exercise.

So, as mentioned in last week’s post, minimalism التبسيط is a lifestyle that is based on decluttering التخلّص من الفوضى in order to live a meaningful life من أجل عيش حياة ذات معنى.

. Even if it’s going to take up a big space in their house and restrict their movement?

كلنا لدينا أجهزة وقطع أثاث وملابس لا نستخدمها 

. We all have devices, pieces of furniture and clothes that we don’t use

إن فكّرنا في التخلّص منها 

. If we think about getting rid of them

عن طريق بيعها، أو التبرّع بها، أو إعادة تدويرها 

. Through selling them, donating them or recycling them

سنوفّر وقتًا وجهدًا كبيرين كنا سوف نستهلكهما في تنظيف وصيانة هذه الأشياء

. We’ll save a lot of effort and time that we’d have consumed while cleaning and maintaining these things
