In this post, I present the answer of the listening comprehension exercise presented in my previous post, and the transcription of the news story.

1. How many soldiers did the Algerian Ministry of Defence deploy?

Forty thousand soldiers were deployed.

 

2. Why was this action taken?

In response to information that an Al-Qaida linked group is preparing to undertake attacks against the Algerian army.

 

3. Where were the forces deployed?

The forces were deployed on the borders.

 

4. What did the security source say about this issue?

The security source said that the army has imposed a state of preparedness on the forces situated on the borders.

 

5. When was the Algerian Embassy in Tripoli evacuated?

Last Thursday.

من جهتها استنفرت وزارة الدفاع الجزائرية اربعين ألف عسكرى على حدودها مع ليبيا، و ذلك بعد معلومات حول تحضير جماعات متشددة مرتبطة بالقاعدة لتنفيذ هجمات ضد الجيش الجزائرى على الحدود.

و قال مصدر أمنى جزائري ان الجيش فرض حالة الاستنفار على القوات الموجودة على الحدود، منذ الخميس الماضي، أى منذ إخلاء مقر السفارة الجزائرية فى العاصمة الليبية طرابلس.
