تبدأ اليوم مناورات عسكرية هي الأكبر في منطقة الخليج تهدف إلى إزالة الألغام والمتفجرات من مياه المحيط في البحر الأحمر، الخليج العربي، خليج عدن وخليج عُمان.
المناورات تقودها الولايات المتحدة وتشارك فيها ثلاثون دولة منها الإمارات العربية، السعودية، بريطانيا وفرنسا واليابان.
متحدث باسم البحرية الأمريكية قال إن المناورات لا تأتي ردا على أي تهديد محدد وإنما تهدف إلى ضمان حرية الملاحة البحرية بالتخلص من الألغام والمتفجرات الكامنة التي تهدد الحياة في المنطقة.
لكن مراقبين اعتبروا المناورات رسالة إلى إيران التي هددت أكثر من مرة بإغلاق مضيق هرمز الذي يعبر من خلاله عشرون بالمئة من نفط العالم.
وقد قامت البحرية الأمريكية بتخصيص صفحة للجمهور لمتابعة أخبار هذه المناورات على الفيسبوك
