The Global Happiness Challenge Posted by on Jun 21, 2019 in Uncategorized

Marhaba readers! Yesterday June 20th was World Refugee Day. This day is dedicated to honor and raise awareness on the situation of refugees all around the world.

The UN General Assembly decided on December 2000 that June 2oth will be celebrated as World Refugee Day, an exposure that will helpfully shed light on their situation and solicit support. In honor of this day, and being part of the UN organization myself, I would like to talk about a challenge that the UN started on March 2oth this year called : The Global Happiness Challenge.

20 March is celebrated  as the UN International Day of Happiness acknowledging  that happiness is a right. When in 2018 an artist from Bangladesh called Morshed Mishu saw heart wrenching images of war and displacement victims online he decided to imagine what those horrors would look like in a an alternate universe and different circumstances.

Here are some his creations :

Marhaba! My name is Anastasia, I'm Lebanese and I'm the new Arabic blogger! As the great prophet Khalil Gibran once said "You have your Lebanon and I have my Lebanon." For as long as I can remember, my country has been poorly portrayed in the Western media, so allow me to introduce to the magic, mystical, and breathtakingly beautiful land I grew up in called : LEBANON.
