In this post, I thought we’d learn about دَرْب الأرْدُن “The Jordan Trail”. I haven’t had the opportunity to try this hike since it only officially begun in 2017. Despite the coronavirus still making it difficult to travel and see new places, I thought we could still learn about new destinations one may venture to in the future. If you are interested in ever visiting Jordan and you love hiking التَنَزّهَ مَشْياً and adventure المُغامرة, then دَرْب الأرْدُن is worth looking into. دَرْب الأرْدُن  is a long-distance hiking trail in Jordan connecting تَرْبُط  the length of Jordan from Um Qais أم قَيس in the north الشَّمال to Aqaba العَقَبة in the south الجَنوب. Offering 40 days of hiking (I know that’s a lot, but you can also choose to do certain parts of it) over more than 675 kilometers of trail and traveling through 75 villages القُرَى and towns بَلدات on its way. I bet you could definitely practice your Arabic while hiking to all these villages. 😊

ما هو دَرْب الأرْدُن؟ 

دَرْب الأرْدُن هو رِحْلة سَير طويلة على الأقدام تَرْبُط الأرْدُن مِن شَّمالِها إلى جَنوبها إبتداءً مِن مَدينة أم قَيس إلى مَدينة العَقَبة. الرِحلة تَحْتاج إلى 40 يَوم مِن السَّير على الأقدام لِمِسافة 650 كيلومتر وتَمُر عَبْر ٥٢ قَرية وبَلدة. خِلال مَسيرك على هذا الدَرْب سَتَقوم بالمَرور بِمَناطِق ذات مَناظِر طَبيعية خَلابة ومُتَنَوعة كالتلال المُشجرة في الشَّمال والوِديان الوَعِرة، إلى صَخْر البَتراء الوَردي والجِبال الشاهِقة في وادي رَم، إلى المياه الكريستالية للبَحْر الأحْمَر

سَتَخوض رِحلة عَبْر تاريخ الأرْدُن وثَقافَته المُتَنَوِعة وسَيَتيح لَك فُرصة عَيش تَجارُب مُخْتَلِفة والتَعَرُف على ثَقَافات جَديدة مِن خِلال تَذَوق الأطباق المَحلية الطَيّبة ومُقابِلة السُّكان المَحليين والمُبيت في بيوتِهِم. بالإضافة إلى ذَلِك سَتُوَفِر لَك فُرصة لِتَعَلُم تاريخ الأرْدُن والحَضَارات المُخْتَلِفة التي تَركَت بَصمة على أرضِها. مَسار الدَرْب يَمُر خِلال مَواقِع أثرية مِثْل أم قَيس وجَرَش والبَتراء وغَيرُها مِن المَواقِع التَّاريخية
