Learning اللُّغـــــــــة العربيـــــــــــة (Arabic language) is good.
Learning about الثقـــــــــــافة العربيـــــــــــة (Arabic culture) in addition to the language is even better—and potentially lucrative too!
Business companies in the المملكـــــــة المُتَّحــــــدة (the United Kingdom) can now learn both Arabic language and Arabic culture to boost their export and international investment opportunities.
As of June of this year, free business Arabic sessions for beginners take place at the Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth, Leicestershire, England.
The program was launched by the government’s export arm UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), and covers several social aspects such as إجــــــــــــراء المواعيــــــــــد (setting appointments), التَّحيـــــــــات (greetings), تقنيـــــــــات التفـــــــــــاوض (negotiation techniques), advice on how to keep good business relationships, and key terms and phrases.
The course is said to be run by Suzannah Hutton, UKTI’s language and culture adviser for the East Midlands.
In an interview with Midland Business News, Mrs. Hutton said: “The Middle East is a massive market for المنطقــــــــــة (the region.)
“Last year’s trade statistics showed more than £1 billion in orders to the Middle East and North Africa, business is booming and there are a high number of opportunities on the horizon.
“For example, قطـــــــر (Qatar) will be investing tens of billions of pounds to develop its بنيـــــــــــة تحتيـــــــــــة (infrastructure) over the next 10 years or so after its successful bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, providing a real focal point for projects including rail and the New Doha Port.
“Having this bit of knowledge in cultural etiquette and language can go a long way when dealing with potential clients, putting local firms in a strong position.”
