Ziad Rahbani’s Famed Play On The Silver Screen! (2) Posted by on Feb 14, 2016 in Arabic Language, Culture

Marhaba! Hope you all enjoyed reading about Ziad Rahbani’s famed play! It’s wonderful and one of my favorites. As mentioned earlier on, this play touches on many of the important themes and issues that still plague our everyday life. Today I am providing the answers to the reading comprehension exercise and I am also sharing the first four parts of Ziad’s play. Some of the play’s most memorable and famous jokes are in these audio clips. Please note that these are available via YouTube and after years we can finally watch this play on the silver screen. If you enjoy these parts, click here to find the rest of the play. Keep in mind that these audio clips are extremely useful for listening to natives having conversations in the Levantine, especially Lebanese, dialect. Enjoy 🙂

Salam everyone! Born as an American to two originally Arab parents, I have been raised and have spent most of my life in Beirut, Lebanon. I have lived my good times and my bad times in Beirut. I was but a young child when I had to learn to share my toys and food with others as we hid from bombs and fighting during the Lebanese Civil War. I feel my connection to Arabic as both a language and culture is severing and so it is with you, my readers and fellow Arabic lovers, and through you that I wish to reestablish this connection by creating one for you.
