Γεια σας! Καλό Halloween to those who celebrate! Three years ago, there was a post with words related to Halloween. This year, the list is getting bigger with the following adjectives:
#1. ανατριχιαστικός: creepy
Όταν άνοιξαν την πόρτα του παλιού σπιτιού, άκουσαν έναν ανατριχιαστικό θόρυβο.
When they opened the door of the old house, they heard a creepy voice.
#2. απόκοσμος: eerie
Στο δάσος ακουγόταν μία απόκοσμη μελωδία.
In the forest one could hear an eerie melody.
#3. αποκρουστικός: repulsive
Ο καλικάντζαρος είχε αποκρουστική όψη.
The goblin looked repulsive.
#4. θανατηφόρος: lethal, deadly
Μην φάτε τα μανιτάρια που θα σας δώσει η γριά. Είναι θανατηφόρα!
Don’t eat the mushroom that the old woman will give you. They are deadly!
#5. μαγικός: magic
Ο μαγικός καθρέφτης μίλησε στη βασίλισσα.
The magic mirror spoke to the queen.
#6. μυστηριώδης: mysterious
Ποιος είναι ο μυστηριώδης άντρας που μένει στο σπίτι στο λόφο;
Who is the mysterious man who lives in the house on the hill?
#7. τρομακτικός: scary
Δεν μου αρέσει ο καινούργιος μας δάσκαλος. Είναι αυστηρός και φωνάζει. Είναι πολύ τρομακτικός!
I don’t like our new teacher. He is strict and he shouts. He is very scary!
#8. τρομερός: terrible
Πέρασε τρομερές στιγμές με τους απαγωγείς της.
She had terrible moments with her abductors (literally).
#9. φοβερός: terrible
Πολλοί άνθρωποι έμειναν άστεγοι μετά τον φοβερό σεισμό.
A lot of people became homeless after the terrible earthquake.
#10. φρικιαστικός: dreadful
Δεν βρήκαν ποτέ ποιος έκανε εκείνο το φρικιαστικό έγκλημα.
They never found out who committed that dreadful crime.
