What are your goals for 2019? Posted by on Dec 12, 2018 in Hindi Language

The new year (naya saal/नया साल) is fast approaching and if you are like most people, you are probably making a list of resolutions (sankalpon ki soochi/संकल्पों की सूची) for the upcoming year (aanewaale varsh/आने वाले वर्ष). It’s a project we all love to work on … to begin a new year with hope (aashaa/आशा) and positiveness and to make up for the past year’s lethargy (susti/सुस्ती) or lack of time.
Over dinner last week, a few of my athletic friends shared their goals for the new year–like running a few marathons, hiking up to Mt. Everest Base Camp, or trying out a new sport like scuba diving.
Goals vary based on interest (shauq/शौक़), lifestyle (jeevan shaili/जीवन शैली), and time. However, if you are spending your New Year’s Eve in the company of Hindi-speaking friends, here are some conversation starters and tips to herald the new year in a different tongue.
