(le Róislín)
A bhuí leis an léitheoir Deasún, tá freagra againn don cheist faoin tatú a bhí sa bhlag https://blogs.transparent.com/irish/ceist-faoi-thatu-agus-an-frasa-tatu-is-fearr-leat/.
Deir sé:
“The way I interpret it, they were looking for “room” and found “seomra” instead of the more abstract “spás”, and I’m thinking it’s more along the lines of this, with the spelling corrected or modified:
“Tá seomra [spás] sa domhan [seo] damanta [seo] do gach duine, mar sin, tá tú ag teacht [[ air? ]] There’s room in this damned world for everyone, therefore, you’re coming [in (it)].”
Mar sin: “Tá spás sa domhan damanta seo do gach duine, mar sin tá tú ag teacht air.” Bhog mise an focal “seo” sa dóigh go bhfuil sé tar éis na haidiachta “damanta.”
Agus cuireann Deasún ceist ar an duine a scríobh an cheist:
“Any more information on the demographics of the bearer of the tattoo? That often sheds some light… Also the style of the letters – 48 point helvetica is usually easier to read than the often-used-in-tattoo Olde English style script, or some variant of the Irish seanchló.”
Má tá an fear sin (fear na ceiste) fós ag léamh an liosta seo, inis dúinn na mionrudaí má tá siad agat, más mian leat. Níl deireadh na habairte go hiomlán soiléir fós, ach sílim go bhfuil an chuid is mó againn anois.
Go raibh maith agat, a Dheasúin, as scríobh isteach agus as gach rud a dhéanann tusa ar son na Gaeilge.
Ceist shuimiúil, is dócha, cén fáth an bhfaca mise an focal “damáiste” ann (cé nach raibh sé ciallmhar sa chomhthéacs) agus cén fáth an bhfaca Deasún “damanta.” Cosúil le triail dhúbhloba Rorschach, nach ea? Agus nach ábhar é sin, mhaise! SGF, Róislín
