Because #1 Posted by on Sep 14, 2015 in Uncategorized

I believe that people use “Because” a lot when they explain why; it is also very useful when you speak Korean. The grammar pattern is “V.S.-기 때문에” I will give some examples below.

To see 보다 – 보기 때문에

I can’t meet you because I am watching important news now/ (제가) 지금 중요한 뉴스를 보기 때문에 못 만나요/ (jae ga) ji gum jung yo han news lul bo gi ddae mun ae (neo lul) moc man nay o.

To go 가다 –가기 때문에

(Phone conversation) I can’t meet you because I am going back home now/ 지금 집에 가기 때문에, 못 만나요.

To be hungry 배고프다 – 배고프기 때문에

I eat a lot because I am so hungry/ 배고프기 때문에 많이 먹어요.

To earn 벌다 – 벌기 때문에

He has a luxury car because he earns good salary/ 그는 연봉을 많이 받기 때문에 비싼 차가 있어요.

때문에 can be 때문이다-때문이에요 with “이다 verb”. For instance, It is because of you!/ 당신 때문이에요.
