Kim Yuna Posted by on Apr 26, 2010 in Uncategorized

This month, the International Skating Union ranked Kim Yuna (김연아) the number one skater in the world. This is an impressive feat, considering that she is only 19 years old. In February of this year, she competed in the Winter Olympics and won a gold medal. Not only is she a famous teenager, she’s a wealthy one as well. She’s the spokesperson for endorsements such as Hyundai (현대), Nike and Korean Air. Apparently she’s rich enough to leave her sports agency. This month, she set up her own agency to train up and coming skaters.

In addition to her illustrious career, she is also generous with her money. She’s donated to the Chinese Sichuan earthquake efforts and to the Haiti earthquake relief for UNICEF. She’s kind, talented and rich. Darn! Am I the only one envious of her? Anyway, she’s the pride of the Korean people and a good role model for young girls. It’s a welcome change from the whole Tiger Woods scandal! A video of her skating is provided below. How does she make it look so easy?!
