Korean Verb Endings: 군요 GunYo Posted by on Jan 25, 2016 in Uncategorized

Today, you are going to learn verb ending “군요/ GunYo ” which expresses surprise and strong feeling such a wow. In my personal opinion, Korean women use “군요/ GunYo ” more than Korean men just like the last blog ending verb #3. So, it sounds like more kind and friendly. Let’s learn how to use it through the examples below. Remember, Korean use “군요/ GunYo ” with past tense a lot, but if they want use it as present tense you need to add 는 in front of 군요, and add (을/ㄹ) 거 for future tense.

To eat 먹다

먹다 + 는군요 = 먹는군요. Present Tense

먹었다+ 군요 = 먹었군요   (Oh, you/ he/ she ate all. 다 먹었군요.)

먹다 + 을 거군요 = 먹을 거군요. Future Tense

To go 가다

가다 + 는군요 = 가는군요.

갔다 + 군요 = 갔군요 (Oh, he left already, 벌써 갔군요.)

가다 + ㄹ 거군요 = 갈 거군요.

To watch 보다

보다 + 는군요 = 보는군요

봤다 + 군요 = 봤군요 (Oh, you already watched it. 벌써 봤군요.)

보다 + ㄹ 거군요 = 볼 거군요.

*In the future tense, need to check if it is vowel ending or consonant ending.
