Learn Korean Future Tense Posted by on Jun 1, 2015 in Uncategorized

As you learned past tense last week with my blog, you are going to learn future tense. It is also very useful. In my personal opinion most foreigners I know, they adopt to learn future tense easier than past tense. Don’t be frustrating to learn grammar, you will be used to it! There is new grammar “V.S. +(을/ㄹ)+것(이다)”. By reading the example below you will understand how to use it.

To eat/ 먹다/먹을 것이다 –먹을 거예요 (먹을 것이다 is infinitive of future tense. You need to change it to 요form which is speaking form)

To wear/ 입다/입을 것이다-입을 거예요

To sleep/자다/잘 것이다- 잘 거예요

To be pretty/예쁘다/예쁠 것이다-예쁠 거예요

To be hurt/아프다/아플 것이다-아플 거예요

To sing/부르다/부를 것이다-부를 거예요

Only when there is ending consonant, use the 을 as you see the above examples.

Please watch the video below to see more examples. In the video, there is one more grammar for future tense which is “V.S. +겠(다)”. In this case, the V.S is only action verb, not descriptive verb.
