When people talk with their friend on the phone, they usually ask each other what they are doing. In the situation, you would need to use progressive tense which is “~ing Form/ ~고 있다/go it da/” Verb stem + 고 있다 is conjugated. For instance, to eat/먹다 + 고 있다 = 먹고 있다 -> I am eating food/음식을 먹고 있어요/eum sik eul meok go it eo yo, so it is action that is currently happening. Let’s learn how to conjugate V.S. + 고 있다 by examples below.

놀다/to play/ nol da/ = 놀고 있다 -> 놀고 있어요.

만나다/to meet/man na da/ = 만나고 있다 -> 만나고 있어요.

보다/to watch/ bo da/ = 보고 있다 -> 보고 있어요.

듣다/to listen/ duk da/ = 듣고 있다 -> 듣고 있어요.

기다리다/to wait/ ki da li da/ = 기다리고 있다 -> 기다리고 있어요.
