How to say “let’s” in Korean (Part 2) Posted by Soo on Feb 8, 2016 in Uncategorized
As I said in the last week that there are about three ways to say “Let’s” in Korean. Today, you are going to learn “같이 + 요” which is appropriated using in casual formal situation; it can be used to people older than you or stranger. The grammar pattern is “같이 + V.S. + (어) 요”. “같이/ Godchi” means together. Please read the examples below.
To eat 먹다
같이 + 먹다 + 요 = 같이 먹어요. Let’s eat together!
To go 가다
같이 + 가다 + 요 = 같이 가요. Let’s go together!
To watch 보다 *irregular
같이 + 보다 + 요 = 같이 봐요. Let’s watch together!
To sleep 자다
같이 + 자다 + 요 = 같이 자요. Let’s go to bed together!
To study 공부하다 *하다 ending becomes 해요*
같이 + 공부하다 + 요 = 같이 공부해요 Let’s study together!
*In formal situation, you can use “같이 + 세요” instead of “같이 +요” above.
