South Korean Companies Posted by Ginny on Sep 22, 2010 in Uncategorized
South Korea is becoming a rising industrial power in the world. Here are some South Korean companies that are predicted to become formidable companies in the global future.
Abroad, Hyundai (현대) is probably most known for their cars. However, in South Korea, Hyundai has their hands in everything, like department stores, electronics and even a baseball team.
In 1998, due to some financial pressures, Kia (기아) was sold to Hyundai. However, Kia is a powerful company in its own right. Like Hyundai, Kia owns a baseball team and owns a part of the auto industry.
You may have seen LG goods on several electronics such as TVs, cell phones, Washers/Dryers, laptops, etc. LG is the second largest corporation in Korea.
Samsung (삼성) is as of now, the biggest and richest conglomerate in South Korea. Samsung is involved in almost every industry in Korea, with some examples being the cell phone and shipping industry.
