New Year’s Resolution 2021: Learn Latin Posted by on Dec 23, 2020 in Latin Language

Salvete Omnes,

Learning a new language or diving back into a familiar language can be difficult if you don’t have the right set of tools and practice daily. I recommend the following:

Our products:

1.Transparent Language Online™

4.Word of the Day

Visit this page each day to learn vocabulary, or get new words delivered to you every day via email or RSS feed.

5.Proficiency Tests

Measure your command of a language

We provide the opportunity for you to test your proficiency level in various foreign languages. We have based this test on the standard grammar and vocabulary that you would find in any language-learning materials. We offer these tests for self-evaluation purposes only. You may find that your score on this test is not consistent with other tests you have taken. Transparent Language is solely responsible for the test content and we invite your feedback regarding the test design.

Unlike achievement tests or other kinds of tests, proficiency tests are not dependent on particular class content, course materials, or language software programs. Instead, a proficiency test is intended to measure your command of a language regardless of your background in that language.

5. Facebook or Twitter

Other Means:

6. Flashcards

Make some good old fashion flashcard of our Words of the Day.

7. Free Rice

An ad-supported, free-to-play website and mobile application that allows players to donate rice to families in need by playing a multiple-choice quiz game. For every question the user answers correctly, 5 grains of rice are donated via the United Nation’s World Food Programme. The available categories include Global Goals: Using Facts to Fuel Action, English, Geography, Humanities, Language Learning (such as Latin!!), Math, and Science.

8. Latin Word Study Tool

I do not recommend using ALL the time as it will become a crutch – but you can type in any Latin word and the tool will parse and translate it for you: i.e. tell you the number and case (if it is a noun), and the number and tense etc.

Happy Learning! See you in 2021!
