Boats Posted by on Oct 25, 2011 in Culture, Nature, Vocabulary

Because there are so many types and styles of boat (rodzaje i style łodzi) to choose from, deciding which boat is right for you and your family may be the hardest part of boating experience. Choosing the right boat is a fun and exciting process. Narrowing down the right type of boat would be simple if you are the only one using it but in order to make everyone in the family (and maybe some friends) happy you must find the type of boat that everyone can enjoy.

And remember, you will always have fun, it doesn’t matter what kind of boat you are on…I love kayaking, but sailing once in a while is fun:)I wouldn’t mind taking a little cruise vacation either…

Here are few different, popular types of boats:

Canoe – czółno

Yacht – jacht

Windjammer – żaglowiec

Sailboat – żaglówka

Cruise ship – statek wycieczkowy

Motorboat – motorówka

Ferry – prom

Rowboat – łódź wiosłowa

Gondola – gondola

White water raft – ponton, tratwa

Kayak – kajak

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them! I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.
