Soccer, as you all know, is a huge part of life in Brazil. Harnessing its popularity is a great way to advocate for different causes. So one professional soccer team in Bahia decided to get creative for a public health campaign. From Andrew Downie:

“The club normally plays in a red-and-black hooped shirt, with white shorts and red and black socks.  Before Saturday’s game against Avai, players wearing black-and-white hooped shirts carried a banner onto the field reading: “Vitoria has always given its blood for you. It’s time for you to give yours.”

Os torcedores aprovaram a ideia e já prometeram ajudar a aumentar o estoque de sangue do Hemoba – Fundação de Hematologia e Hemoterapia da Bahia, atualmente com menos de 40% da capacidade . A expectativa, segundo o departamento de marketing do clube, é que com a campanha o numero de doações em Salvador aumente de 150 para 200 por dia, um crescimento de 25%. (Read more)
