Coin saves Brazilian woman’s life Posted by on Dec 3, 2009 in Brazilian News

Yesterday, O Globo reported that a young woman’s life was spared because of a R$1 coin tucked under her clothes.

Luciana Duarte de Sousa broke up with her boyfriend of a year, who didn’t take the news very well. He followed her, pulled out a gun, and shot her at point-blank range. Incredibly, the bullet hit the coin, and Luciana wasn’t even injured. In shock, she removed the coin from her skin, which had prevented the bullet from killing her. The shooter has been arrested.
