Online Portuguese Test Posted by on Mar 2, 2010 in Uncategorized

Transparent has lots of cool online tools to help you learn Portuguese, and one of those is a Portuguese proficiency test. For those of you who aren’t currently taking a formal course, I highly recommend testing your knowledge with this online test. There are four sections consisting of 10-15 questions each, which include grammar, verb conjugation, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Here’s an example of a grammar type question:

Queremos ___________ para a Europa.
A.  viajar
B.  correr
C.  beber
D.  ouvir

Take the test here. How did you score? What areas could use improvement that we should focus on here on the blog?

Everyone’s rating system is different. I took an evaluation online and it broke it down to specific categories like reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar and it scored me at an advanced level but the lower advanced, which surprised me because I saw myself as nothing but an intermediate level.

This exam scored me at an advanced beginner level, even more surprising. I saw that I scored 91% on the 1st two parts while vocabulary was 100% and the reading comprehension was I think 30%? Give me the same test with English and see my reading comprehension also low too.
