Rodeio season has started in Brazil! It’s when it starts to get “chilly,” and gives us big city folk a reason to go to the countryside, wear our cowboy boots, big belts, big hats, and go to sertanejo concerts (Brazilian country music)!
I went to the Jaguariúna Rodeio, a town an hour or so away from São Paulo, on Friday night where we watched a Jorge e Mateus concert! They’re one of the big sertanejo sensations of the moment, so I thought I’d share a little bit of their music with you guys for kicks to start off the week!
For those of you who enjoy sertanejo, I suggest you listen to it. It’s great for Portuguese learners because the lyrics are easy and they repeat them A LOT in most of the songs!

Hi! Sertanejo universitário is a big hit in my region and country duos drive thousands to their concerts.
We end up learning the words to the songs because they play on the radio and bars all the time.
