Enjoy your weekend with great Swedish cakes Posted by on Mar 18, 2011 in Uncategorized

Recipe-Recept

6 äpplen, ca 800 gr (6 apples, approx. 800 gr)

150 gr smör (150 g butter)

3 dl havregryn (little bit more than 1 British cup of dry oats-you know just like for our beloved porridge) for measures please visit: http://www.recepten.se/artiklar/maatt_enheter.html

2 dl socker (sugar)

1/2 dl ljus sirap (syrup)

1 1/2 dl mjöl (flour)

1/2 tsk bakpulver (half of a tea spoon baking powder)

2 msk mjölk (2 spoon of milk)

The cakes and ideas were taken from Ulrika Nyström´s blog. http://kakorochjag.wordpress.com/ Find out more about Swedish cakes in general. She also recommends a book called Sju sorters kakor that is actually available in English as well Swedish cakes and cookies. You find all the recipes to my favorite cakes there. Well I didn´t put kladdkaka in this post this time because I made a post on that earlierThe book was sold in 3,4 million copies in Sweden by the way so it is one of the all time favourites. Have a nice weekend everyone. We all need a break!
