We will never die! Posted by on Nov 22, 2010 in Culture, Grammar, Swedish Language

So let me give you another Swedish song with translation and lyrics. Learning vocabulary from lyrics/songs is like a guldgruva (gold mine) i.e. where you have lots and lots of treasures/resources, would maybe our Marcus say. I am referring to his previous blog post of course. I have chosen a song from one of my favorite bands Bo Kaspers Orkester – Vi kommer aldrig att dö. Let´s celebrate them with this song and the fact that they made an amazing performance last Saturday in Gothenburg. I remember listening to this song the day when I moved into my first ever, own, private flat in downtown Gothenburg and was celebrating in an unfurnished apartment with a glass of red wine in my hand before going out. I was sitting on a box and gazing through the apartment. Ending an old era and starting a new chapter in my life. Beautifully melancholy. Sheryl Crow sang in We do what we can; “If we could freeze moments in time we all would“. And indeed, I never took a picture in that apartment but I have it in my head. I hope you can relate to those moments of feeling free in life. Tibor´s youth novels. Checked.

I am glad you like I am preparing more for you. I try to chose good songs but the most important thing is to find songs with good vocabulary.

  5. Kenia:

i like both, the song and what you wrote about the appartment in Gothenburg. I guess i’m just kind of a melancholic person. And i agree, listening to music and reading the lyrics is a good way of learning, that’s how i learned a bit of swedish for the first time, actually.

Tibor, Tusen tak! I’ve been trying to find the translation for so long. Very kind of you to have taken the time to translate and share. Bo kaspers are extremely talented y awesome musicians. And what to say about swedish language, it just sounds so rhythmic, is not a harsh language at all, in fact, in my personal opinion is one of the prettiest languages.
    Again, Thanks a lot Tibor
