Ahlan أهــْــلاً Arabic lovers! Here is a beautiful love song by Kazem Al-Sahir كــَــاظــِـــم الــســَّـــاهــِـــر. The song is entitled “And I Love You و إنــِّــي أُحــِـــبــُّـــكِ“. It was written by the great Arab poet Nizar Qabbani نــِـــزار قــَــبــَّــانــِــى. I did the English translation for the poem and I hope you will enjoy it.
And I Love You
And I love you .. but
I fear .. I fear to get involved in you .. to get clung to you .. to get united in you
And I love you
As experienced has taught me .. to avoid women love ..
And the waves of seas .. and I love you
Let me serve you some tea .. you beauty is legendary this morning
Let me translate some talk of benches as they welcome you
Let me express what goes on in the minds of the cups as they think of your lips
Did you like the tea?
And would you suffice – as you always did – with one sugar piece !?
But I
Prefer your face without sugar
Let me say in all languages while you don’t know
I love you
I love you
Let me search for vocabulary thatequals my longing for you
Let me think for you .. and miss for you .. and cry and laugh for you
And cancel distances between imagination and certainty
Let me call you with all the calling letters
For if I chanted with your name, you might be born from my lips
Let me found a country of love
A country of love where you will be the queen
And where I become … the greatest of all lovers
And I love you
