Ahlan, Arabic lovers! Since libraries play an important role in our lives, we have started a series of blogs introducing different situations in a library setting to get to know how to use Arabic in the library. Today, we have another conversation between a librarian and a library patron to ask for using a computer. You will have the full dialogue in Arabic and then the same dialogue translated into English and then a list of some useful language. المحادثة الثالثة: خدمات الحاسوب
الزبون: أهلاً، هل لديكم حاسوباً متاحاً؟
أمين المكتبة: نعم، يمكنك أن تستخدمَ أياً من الحواسيب غير المستخدمة.
الزبون: حسناً، كيف يمكننى تسجيل الدخول؟
أمين المكتبة: دعنى أريك. تضغط على مفتاح تسجيل الدخول هنا، ثم تدخل اسمك كاملاً و رقم بطاقة العضوية.
الزبون: حسناً، و هل يمكننى الدخول إلى الانترنت؟ إننى أبحث عن وظيفة جديدة.
أمين المكتبة: نعم، كل حاسوباتنا مصلة بالانترنت.
الزبون: عظيم! و هل سأستطيع أن أطبع بعض الوثائق؟
أمين المكتبة: بالتأكيد. كما أن أول صفحتين تطبعهم مجاناً، و لكن كل صفحة بعد ذلك ستتكلف 15 سنتاً.
الزبون: جيد أنك أعلمتنى. هل يمكننى الطباعة بالألوان أم أنها فقط بالأبيض و الأسود؟
أمين المكتبة: كلاهما (متاح)! و النسخ الملونة تكلف 5 سنتات إضافية عن كل صفحة.
الزبون: شكراً جزيلاً.
أمين المكتبة: على فكرة، إذا احتجت مساعدة فى بحثك عن وظيفة، فإننا نقدم صفاً لكتابة السيرة الذاتية مساء الخميس القادم.
الزبون: حقاً؟ و كم يتكلف هذا الصف؟
أمين المكتبة: إنه مجاني تماماً! و إذا أحببت، يمكنك أن تعرف أكثر و تسجل على الموقع الإلكتروني للمكتبة.
الزبون: عظيم، سوف ألقى نظرة عليه!
Dialog #3: Computer Services
Patron: Hello. Do you have a computer available?
Librarian: Yes, you can use any of the computers that are not being used.
Patron: Okay, how do I sign in?
Librarian: Let me show you. Click on the log in button here, and enter your full name and library card number.
Patron: Okay. Can I access the internet? I’m searching for a new job.
Librarian: Yes, all of our computers are connected to the internet.
Patron: Great. Will I be able to print a few documents?
Librarian: Absolutely. The first two pages you print are free, but every page after that will cost 15 cents.
Patron: Good to know. Can I print in color or only in black and white?
Librarian: Both! Color copies cost an extra 5 cents per page.
Patron: Thank you so much.
Librarian: By the way, if you need help with your job search, we are offering a resume writing class this Thursday evening.
Patron: Oh really? How much does it cost?
Librarian: It’s completely free! If you’re interested, you can learn more and sign up online on the library website.
Patron: Great, I’ll look in to it!
