I tried this recipe of chicken shawarma, and I found it fantastic. I recommend that you try it. If you don’t have all the spices, use the ones you have. I have tried it with various spices and I loved the result in all instances.

1300 غرام دجاج صدورة وافخاد
1 ملعقة  شاي بهار حلو
1 ملعقة  شاي قرفة ناعمة
نصف ملعقة  شاي هال ناعم
نصف ملعقة  شاي قرنفل ناعم
1 ملعقة  شاي  فلفل اسود
نصف ملعقة  شاي كمون ناعم
1 ملعقة  طعام ثوم بودرة
1 ملعقة  طعام سماق
1 ملعقة  شاي زنجبيل ناعم
ربع كوب زبادي
2 ملعقة طعام معجون الطاطم
ربع كوب خل احمر
عصير نصف ليمونة
نصف ليمونة مقطعة
ربع كوب زيت نباتي
نصف ملعقة طعام ملح


1300 grams Chicken breasts and legs

The mix:

1 tea spoon mixed spices

1 tea spoon cinnamon soft

Half tea spoon ground cardamom

Half tea spoon ground cloves

1 tea spoon black pepper

Half tea spoon ground cumin

1 table spoon garlic powder

1 table spoon sumac

1 tea spoon ground ginger

¼ cup yogurt

2 tablespoons tomato paste

¼ cup red vinegar

Juice of half a lemon

Half a lemon sliced

Quarter cup of Vegetarian oil

Half tablespoon salt


Mix the spices and liquids together and cover the chicken pieces. Leave the chicken and mix in the fridge for a couple of hours or in the room temperature. Then put in an oven tray and cover with kitchen foil and cook it in the oven for half an hour, then leave the foil and return to the oven for 15 minutes!
