In this post, I thought we’d learn some of the most common preposition words used to describe the position of something in Arabic, along with example sentences with audio to help with pronunciation.

Before we begin, can you pick something you see and try describing its position in Arabic? How many prepositions in Arabic do you remember? Here are ten to practice in this post. 😊

Here are example sentences. I have the translations below but mixed up. Try first to understand what you can from the Arabic and then try to match the translations.

I found my little brother sitting in front of the computer.

There was a bird above my window.

Did you see my glasses on the table?

I found my cousin behind the house in the garden.

The pen is under the desk.

He sat next to me in the bus.

I went to the bank today.

There is a bad smell around the house.

Why was my phone in your room?

There is a small café between the library and school.

Now try looking around you and describe the position of some things in Arabic for practice.

I hope you found this post useful. Till next week, happy Arabic learning! 😊
