Today, I am preparing some Turkish baklava (بقلاوة تركية) at home! I found a very useful video and a very simple recipe which I wanted to share with you!
Half a kilogram of filo pastry
Ground Mixed nuts
Butter and oil
Roast the ground nuts and add sugar and rose water, mix together to make a paste
Cover the oven tray with oil or butter or a mixture of both
But half of the filo sheet in the tray and leave the other half on the side
Cover each sheet with oil or butter or a mixture of both
When you finish all the sheets, put the nuts mix in the middle
Then fold the other half of the filo sheets on the top, adding oil and butter on each sheet
Cut the baklava into diamond shapes before putting in the oven
Put in the oven until it turns golden in colour.
Add the sugar syrup when it is still hot.
Let it cool down and enjoy!
