Sure, we were very limited in flying to Europe within last year, but life is slowly getting back to somehow normal and people start traveling a little more. Do you know where all the airports are in Poland? Well, I will help you with that!

It’s always good to know your options! Especially when it comes to flying. I usually fly to Warsaw, but there are so many other airports that may be more convenient to fly to!

 

The national flag carrier of Poland is LOT, which is responsible for most of the routes in and out of the country. Other major players in the country are the low cost carriers Ryan Air and Wizz Air, as well as other European companies such as Eurowings, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM and many others. Here is a list of Polish airports, just in case you are planning a trip in near future:)

1. Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport is the country’s both largest and busiest airport, handling more than 40% of the country’s total passenger traffic.

2. Warsaw Modlin Airport is the second airport serving the Polish capital and is mostly operated by low cost airlines. Warsaw Modlin Airport is an international airport opened in 2012 after being used as a military airfield. It is a little further away from the center of the city, but it is an excellent choice if you want to get a cheap flight to Poland.

3. Kraków Airport is one of the biggest in the country. Saint John Paul II Airport Kraków–Balice is an international airport in the village of Balice, near Kraków, 11km of the center of the city in Southern part of the country.

4. Wrocław Airport is one of the biggest in Southern Poland, located in the Southwestern part of the country. It has a strong presence of low cost airlines.

5. Katowice Airport is also a busy airport. It is situated 30km north of Katowice, in Pyrzowice.

6. Gdańsk Airport, also known as Lech Wałęsa Airport is an international Polish airport located 12km west of Gdańsk. The airport is named after former Polish president.

7. Łódź Airport,  also known as Władysław Reymont Airport is an international airport in central Poland, located 6km of the city centre. It features flights to several European destinations.

8. Poznań Airport, known as Henryk Wieniawski Airport is one of the country’s oldest airports, it is located about 5km from the center of the city.

9. Bydgoszcz Airport, known as  Bydgoszcz Ignacy Jan Paderewski Airport is an international airport serving the area of Bydgoszcz city.It is a good option if you want to visit Central Poland.

10. Lublin Airport is a relatively small airport in Eastern Poland. It is just 180 km from Warsaw, so it might be a good option to fly into Warsaw to go Lublin or vice versa.

11. Olsztyn Airport, also known as  Olsztyn-Mazury Airport is one of the smallest in Poland with commercial scheduled operations. The biggest airport near Olsztyn, apart from the Olsztyn Airport itself, is in Gdańsk.

12. Rzeszów Airport, known as Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport is an international airport in southeastern Poland, in a village of Jasionka, 10km away from Rzeszów.

13. Szczecin Airport is a small airport in Northwestern Poland. Known as Solidarity or Szczecin–Goleniów Airport, is the main domestic and international airport for the region around the city of Szczecin.
