Best Brazilian Food Posted by on May 28, 2009 in Uncategorized

For today’s interactive feature, we’re going to talk about Brazilian food. The question at hand is: what is your favorite Brazilian dish?

I have two personal favorites: moqueca de camarão and brigadeiro. Though Brazilian food includes excellent meat, the seafood is also wonderful, especially the shrimp. Brazilian food also includes a range of delicious desserts, and I happen to love brigadeiro, which is basically pure chocolate covered in chocolate sprinkles.

What about you?

A snack that I enjoy is pamonha doce–a little bit like a sweet tamale without filling or with a little bit of cheese in the middle.

Brazilian beans and rice, not necessarily feijoada, with a little banana or chicken farofa on top is great for a meal.

Adoro pamonha, risole, e a sobremesa cural de milho verde. 🙂

  3. Mary:

    Gosto de pão de queijo.

Last time I was in Brasil I had a tapioca pudding that was really delicious. But the tapioca was different from here – totally smooth. And there was coconut in it. Now, when I make tapioca pudding here, I use coconut milk instead or regular milk. It’s a wonderful summer time dessert.

I, too, love the pão de queijo, and wish I could find it here in San Diego!

Another thing I love (which I *can* find) is Brazilian-style stroganoff. The addition of the tomato to the sauce is just yummy, and including “batata palha” is a bonus.

  6. nichole:

    eu amo brigadeiro!
