Welcome to a new post  ? مرحبا بكم في مدوّنة جديدة. Today, I would like to share with you a song that has been released by the iconic Egyptian singer المغنّي المصري المعروف: Tamer Hosny تامر حسني at the beginning of this year في بداية هذا العام. I came across this song quite recently and thought it was unique because of its positive message رسالتها الإيجابية. The song is quite motivational الأغنية تحفيزية للغاية and is full of positive vibes ومليئة بالطاقة الإيجابية. It’s in Egyptian Arabic and English translation will be provided below in the post. I hope you enjoy it 😉

In Egyptian Arabic>

ُخَلّونَا نِتْفَرَّجْ عَالْفِيدْيُو وِنِسْمَعْ الأُغْنِيَة 🙂

 

and in Standard Arabic>

لِنُشَاهِدْ المَقْطَعْ المُصَوَّرْ ونَسْتَمِعْ إِلَى الأُغْنِيَة 🙂

 

 

خلّيك فولاذي

Stay steel

 

1An egyptian word for ‘this’ هذهليها طريقة فى البواخة الدنيا دي

It has a way of being silly/boring, this life

 

لما تصعّب حاجة بتقفلها

When it makes something hard, it lock it off completely

 

ولما تقلب وشها2An egyptian word for ‘face’ وجه عليك فى يوم

And when it turns its/her face on you one day

 

وتتعوجلك3appears crooked to you مستحيل تعدلها

And becomes crooked (for you), it is impossible for you to adjust/handle it

وبتبقى حاسس فجأة إنك لوحدك

And you’re suddenly feeling that you’re alone

 

وكل الناس دي عاملة مؤامرة كبيرة ضدك

And all people are making a big conspiracy against you

 

بس الحقيقة

But the truth is

 

إن في نفس الدقيقة

that at the same minute

 

قدامك ألف فرصة

in front of you, are a thousands opportunities

 

فيه أكتر من طريقة

And there is more than one way

خليك فولاذي

Be/ Stay steel

 

وده4An egyptian word for “this” هذا مش تعبير مجازي

And this is not a metaphor

 

5an adjective that’s also used to mean ‘super’عايزاك الدنيا جامد

Life wants you to be solid

 

وده مش وقت التعازي

And this is not the time for condolences

 

ماهو أصل الدنيا واحدة

Because life is basically one

 

6‘wa7da’ – apart from meaning ‘one’, it’s also used to refer back to a feminine entity, both living and non livingوطبيعي أي واحدة

and it’s natural that any one (girl)

 

لما تشوفك ضعيف

When she sees that you are weak

 

تدي الوش المخيف

She will give you the scary face

 

لكن لو تبقي فارس

But if you are a knight 

 

ترقصلك الغوازي
