Learn 100+ Languages On the Go with Transparent Language for iPad Posted by Transparent Language on Aug 3, 2016 in For Educators, For Learners, For Libraries, Learning Feature Updates
For language learners, time and place restrictions can be discouraging at best and extremely disruptive at worst. Mobile learning puts learners in control of when and where they learn, meaning downtime or periods of absence—from the daily commute to an overseas deployment—are suddenly more productive. That’s why Transparent Language Online is now available in full on iPads*.

Subscribers could previously access Transparent Language Online from their iPad using the Safari browser. The new Transparent Language for iPad app refines the learning experience with a full-screen fit and an easy-access icon right on your home screen. The better look is accompanied by better functionality: speaking activities are no longer limited by iOS. Learners can now record themselves through their tablet’s microphone.
The iPad app also allows learners to work offline—content can be downloaded and learned even without an internet connection. The next time the app is connected to the internet, all of your progress will sync automatically!
Just as mobile learning gives students control over when and where they study, staying secure while connected to the internet is equally important for uninterrupted productivity. Many learners rely on public Wi-Fi or shared networks to access their courses, which can expose personal information and progress to unwanted tracking or interruptions.
Using an Android VPN helps encrypt internet connections and protect sensitive data while ensuring access to geo-restricted resources and study materials. By combining the flexibility of offline-enabled apps with secure network access, learners can focus on their lessons confidently, knowing that both their progress and privacy are fully safeguarded.

The free app is now available to all Transparent Language Online subscribers, including the education and library editions. To access the app from your iPad, log in to Transparent Language Online and navigate to the “Go Mobile” button in the top right corner. In the Tablet tab, click on the link to the Apple App Store and use the username and mobile password provided to access the app.

*Note: the Transparent Language for iPad app is only available on iPad. Android tablet users can access Transparent Language Online through the Google chrome browser, which has full compatibility.
