Transparent Language Online Wins Fourth Consecutive Platinum Award Posted by Transparent Language on Jan 15, 2019 in Company News, For Libraries
We’re feeling very fourtunate to receive our fourth consecutive Platinum Award in LibraryWork’s 2019 Modern Library Awards! Providing language learning opportunities to library patrons must really be our fourte. (Okay, that’s all of our number puns… four now.)
The Modern Library Awards are special awards because they are voted on by the librarians with whom we work on a daily basis—it’s like the People’s Choice Awards of libraries!
The MLAs were established to recognize the top products and services in the library industry, with products and services being reviewed by the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers who have firsthand experience using a product or service are permitted to judge it. Each judge scores the product from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, and beyond.
Awards are given on the following scores:
- Platinum (9.0 – 10.0)
- Gold (8.0 – 8.99)
- Silver (6.50 – 7.99)
For the fourth year in a row, Transparent Language Online has gone platinum in the Modern Library Awards, receiving the highest honor possible!
Our Library Programs Manager, Lauren Gancarz, is celebrating the award but also giving credit where it’s due—to our library subscribers:
“We are excited and honored to receive our forth Platinum Modern Library Award. Libraries play an important role in the communities they serve, and we wouldn’t have received this award without their continued support and feedback.”
That feedback enables us to develop a platform that patrons love. Our team regularly travels to conferences around the country to meet with librarians and better understand how they serve diverse, multilingual communities. Those discussions guide our efforts for the year—which languages, courses, or features we add to the platform to continue improving the learning experience.
In 2018, we librarians inspired us to:
- Expand our ESL collection to include an American Citizenship Test Prep course and Advanced Conversations in English course
- Bring Latin back to life with our Introduction to Latin
- Continue to improve our user experience for mobile devices, including new push notifications that remind learners to log in and refresh their Learned Vocabulary.
- Redesign the Reporting Dashboard so librarians can better monitor usage and measure ROI.
This award speaks to the success of that collaborative relationship with our libraries. To our existing library partners, we owe you a heartfelt thank you.
To future library subscribers, we look fourward to meeting you and helping bring more than 110 languages to your community with Transparent Language Online for Libraries. If you’ll be at ALA-MW this year in Seattle, we hope to see you in Booth 2604.
