Marhaba! Hope you enjoyed reading about the Golden Globes in Arabic. Despite the many problems with such awards, especially the exclusion of notable films for various sociopolitical reasons, I think it’s important to stay fully informed of the latest films, TVs, and music scores that in way or another shape our popular culture even if we are unaware.

Today, I want to share the answers to the reading comprehension exercise from the previous post. I believe it was a fun and concise article full of interesting details. Hope you all enjoyed it. stay tuned for the Academy Awards on February 28, 2016.

Answers:
1) The film ‘The Revenant’ topped the Golden Globes this year by winning three awards.

2) The film ‘The Martian’ won two awards, first for best comedy or musical film, and the second was given to Matt Damon as best actor in that same category.
فاز فيلم “المريخي” بجائزتين، الأولى في فئة أفضل فيلم كوميدي أو غنائي، بينما كانت الأخرى من نصيب الممثل مات ديمون كأفضل ممثل في نفس الفئة

3) The Hungarian film ‘Son of Saul’ takes place during the Second World War where one of the detainees at one of the Nazi concentration camps is forced to burn the bodies of his kin.

 4) Jon Hamm took the award for best actor in a TV drama series for ‘Mad Men’.
حصل جون هام على جائزة أفضل ممثل في مسلسل درامي عن فيلم “رجال مجانين

5) Translate the following sentence to English:

“وهذه هي الدورة 73 للمسابقة السنوية، التي تنظمها رابطة هوليوود للصحافة الأجنبية. وتُعتبر إحدى الخطوات التمهيدية والمؤثرة نحو جوائز الأوسكار، التي يُقام حفل توزيعها بعد شهر من إعلان جوائز غولدن غلوب

This is the 73rd cycle of the annual competition that is organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press. It is considered one of the introductory and influential steps towards the Oscars that are held a month after the Golden Globe Awards are announced.
