Marhaba! So, did you find the news story as interesting as I did? Quite amazing! Although it will take some time to either prove or refute Reeves’ theories, this development is significant and might be one of the most important archaeological discoveries in our lifetimes! Today I am sharing the answers to the questions from the previous post. I certainly hope that these comprehension exercises are helping you out with your Arabic learning journey.

Answers:

1. If the theory was true of the existence of a chamber behind the walls of Tutankhamun’s tomb in the valley of kings in which a pharaoh queen is buried, it would be the most important discovery of our time.
   اذا صحت وجهة النظر القائلة بوجود غرفة خلف جدران مقبرة توت عنخ امون في وادي الملوك ترقد بها ملكة فرعونية قد يكون أهم اكتشاف في وقتنا الحالي 

   2. He clarified that studying the plan and obtaining the permits could take between one or three months, adding that he believes by 60-70% of the existence of a passageway behind the burial walls that might lead to discovering a burial chamber of a pharaoh queen, but he does not think that it would necessarily be Nefertiti.
   أوضح ان دراسة الخطة واستصدار التراخيص قد يستغرق ما بين شهر إلى ثلاثة أشهر مضيفاً إنه يعتقد بنسبة تترواح بين 60 و70 في المئة بوجود ممر وراء جدران المقبرة قد يؤدي إلى اكتشاف حجرة دفن ملكة فرعونية، لكنه لا يرى ان تكون هي بالضرورة نفرتيتي

   3. He said that the optical scan that has been performed on the walls of the tomb that had been discovered in 1922, and the colored drawings in it has led him to believe of the existence of a passageway not yet discovered; adding that these drawings point to a difference in the wall where one is coarse and the other is smooth which could indicate that the walls were not all erected at the same time.
   وقال إن المسح الضوئي الذي اجري على جدارن المقبرة، التي اكتشفت في 1922- والرسوم الملونة بها قاده للاعتقاد بوجود ممر غير مكتشف بعد، مضيفاً ان هذه الصور تشير إلى وجود اختلافات بالجدران تتمثل في ان جزءا منها خشن وجزءا آخر أملس مما قد يشير إلى ان الجدران جميعها لم تشيّد في وقت واحد
   
   4. Most believe that she died in mysterious circumstances during a revolution that ended the rule of her husband King Akhenaten, known as the pharaoh of monotheism and who ruled between the years 1362 and 1379 BC; while other assume, and among them Reeves, that she might have continued to live after that and took another name.
   يعتقد معظمهم انها توفيت في ظروف غامضة خلال ثورة أنهت حكم زوجها الملك اخناتون الملقب بفرعون التوحيد والذي حكم بين عامي 1379 و1362 قبل الميلاد، فيما يعتقد آخرون ومن بينهم ريفز انها قد تكون عاشت بعد ذلك واتّخذت اسماً آخر

   5. Translate the following sentence to English:
   كان ريفز قام بزيارة ميدانية إلى وادي الملوك يومي الاثنين والثلاثاء الماضيين رافقه خلالها وزيرا الآثار والسياحة
   Reeves had made a field visit to the valley of kings last Monday and Tuesday where he was accompanied by the ministers of archaeology and tourism.
