Highly proficient English learners, you can now sharpen your listening and reading comprehension with the new Advanced Listening and Advanced Reading lessons in Transparent Language Online.

The new advanced English lessons—ten listening-focused and ten reading-focused—are intended for learners near or at the CEFR C2/ACTFL Superior level. All lessons are based on authentic materials created by and for native speakers, covering political satire, literary criticism, social commentary, and beyond. Each lesson should take about 1.5 hours to complete, totaling 30 hours of advanced English learning materials.

Advanced Listening Lessons

The listening lessons are designed to help you better comprehend advanced English spoken at a fast, native pace. This includes identifying vocabulary in a variety of contexts and understanding subtleties and nuance. Each of the lessons also has a grammar component, ranging from attributive nouns to gerund phrases.

Advanced Reading Lessons

The reading lessons provide you with the opportunity to build your comprehension of advanced written English. This includes exposure to collocations, colloquial phrases, idiomatic language, phrasal verbs, and complex grammar structures ranging from parallelism to compound prepositions.
